Society of Saint Vincent de Paul

The St. Matthew’s Conference of the Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) visits and helps people in need – the elderly and infirm, people in hospitals and homes for the elderly or handicapped. They also try to organise lifts to Mass for people who would not otherwise be able to get there.

Members of the Society attend a weekly meeting each Monday at 8.00pm. The weekly meetings last for about half an hour and commence and conclude with short prayers as a reminder that the nature of the work is love of God. The business of each meeting is strictly confidential.

Membership is open to both men and women. No special qualifications are needed other than the desire to help those in need for the love of God.
