Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Penance involves confessing our sins to a priest. We should all have a realistic sense of our own sinfulness. We need to acknowledge the truth about ourselves: that we need God’s help, His grace, if we are to lead a Christian life. Our sins stand between us and God. Without true repentance for our sins, there can be no real spiritual progress.

We all need to go to Confession because we are all sinners, and because we wish to grow closer to God.

In St Matthew’s, children normally start their preparation for the Sacrament in Level 2 of our Sunday School, i.e. starting when they begin Year 2 in Primary School.
